Disappointment as a Return to School Sites Delayed
With sadness, we all acknowledge what Superintendent McLaughlin communicated this afternoon. The deep need to reopen our physical campuses is outweighed, for now, by the more pressing need to keep our entire community safe and well.
When it is safe to reopen, all of the consideration and planning work of the last few months--and the next few--will mean an orderly transition that carefully attends to every student.
Likewise, the fall learning experience for our students will reflect the intensive planning and preparation that was impossible during spring’s abrupt shutdown.
Struggles lie ahead. But learning will happen.
As much as we miss visiting them, the buildings are not the most important part of our schools. The people are--and we must keep one another safe. Whether on campus or off, all of us in the CVUSD school community are here. We will keep connecting as best we can, and we are in this together.
I am here, as always, to listen, to learn about your concerns, help connect you with available resources, and to be of service wherever possible. How are you holding up?
